armstrong redwoods state park, guerneville

The Russian River area has numerous parks for you to enjoy your favorite activities in: camping, canoeing, kayaking, picnicing, hiking, biking, or just relaxing in your beautiful surroundings.

For a general overview, take a look at the Sonoma County Regional Parks Clickable Map, the Sonoma Coast State Park Brochure and Map (pdf) or scroll through the list below.

Just two and a half miles from downtown Guerneville, you will find a beautiful state park full of paths through ancient redwoods. Armstrong Redwoods State Park features easy strolls through the beautiful trees. Even on a rainy day, you are protected from the downfall by the majestic trees.

Tip for Photographers: Redwoods can be really tricky to photograph because of lighting issues. On your way out to the coast on River Road, be sure to stop at Northwood Golf, where you can snap a few photos of redwoods basked in sunlight.
