The Russian River is a Barbless-Hook river open to fishing year-round. No bait is allowed April 1st through November 2nd. In order to protect native fish, all tributaries are closed to fishing as they are spawning streams.

Fall and Winter - Steelhead
Spring - Catfish
Spring and Summer - Large Mouth Bass, Bluegill, Catfish

If you didn't come equipped, you can rent a rod and reel.

If you brought your own boat, you'll need to know the River's put-in spots.

Coastal Fish Seasons

You'll find Albacore Tuna, Dungeness Crab, Halibut, Ling Cod, Rock Cod and Salmon in the Coastal ocean waters.

Commercial Dungeness Crab: Nov. 15 - June 30

Commercial Salmon: July 1 - September 30

Recreation Rockfish: July 1 - December 31

Recreation Cabezon: July 1 - December 31

Recreation Lingcod: July 1 - November 30

Recreation Salmon: April 2 - November 30

Recreation Sturgeon: Open all year

Recreation Albacore: August 1 - November 30
