In the crucial moments following his death, his parents made the decision to donate his organs and corneas - at a time when organ donation was not common in Italy. As a result of the media attention Nicholas's death and his parents' choice, organ donations in Italy have quadrupled.
A mile and a half north of Bodega Bay, on the western side of Highway 1, you will find the Nicholas Green Memorial and the Children's Bell Tower - a beautiful sculpture made up of 140 bells from Italy. It is a beautiful and tranquil place to visit.
