Bicycling Magazine listed Sonoma County as one of "The 7 Greatest Rides on Earth" - and for good reason. Whether you want to tackle our more challenging hills, or bike from one winery to the next, you will find plenty of beautiful cycling terrain. Try taking a bike tour - or design one of your own with a little help from our collection of maps.
Sonoma County is home to professional cyclist Levi Leipheimer (try "Levi's Loop" to experience his favorite local ride) and the starting point of the Amgen Tour of California. Below you'll find suggested rides for all levels - whether you want to train like the professionals or prefer to put a little less wear and tear on yourself.
If you'd rather leave your bikes at home, there are plenty of rental options.
Here's a handy, printable map you can use as a discussion starting point, but I highly encourage you to refer to more detailed maps when tackling back road rides.
On the back, you'll find basic directions and a ride difficulty rating for each of the suggested routes.
Please feel free to send in corrections and suggestions. With your help, I can create a more comprehensive and detailed map.
